MATTERS

The Gala is Amistad’s signature event and through its supporters we sponsor and hosts pro bono legal clinics providing free consultations to members of the community in both Nassau and Suffolk counties.

EMPOWERING INDIVIDUALS

Amistad provides education, mentorship, CLEs, networking opportunities, and resources that help Amistad members reach their full potential.

PROGRAMS

Amistad funds and hosts the only programs held in the New York State Unified Court System’s Nassau and Suffolk County Supreme Courthouses honoring the achievements of Jurists and Court personnel of African descent during Black History month. These events are successful in large part due to the support and participation of businesses and organizations listed in our journal. 

BUILDING A

STRONGER FUTURE

We mentor law students, volunteer in secondary schools, provide scholarships, and send competitors to the National Bar Association's Drum Major for Justice competition every year. Over the last 20 years, Amistad has mentored students who placed top 3 in the country.
